Fitter, Happier, More Productive!

A better way to get things done?

Tuesday, September 25th, 2012

8 hours, they tell me, used to be enough to get the job done.

Today, in our hyper-connected lives, the minutes, hours, days and years go by fast—fiber optic, Usain Bolt fast. The ease in which one can lose themselves in the busyness of it all is simpler than ever. One day, you are in a productive, proactive groove and the next, you realize your days are spent inside the confides of your email app, reacting to the outside forces of work needs, deadlines and obligations. I know this, I have spent many of my precious life lines trying to combat these forces.

If you are like me, you often state “there’s got to be a better way?!?”

A better way to get all my projects moving. A better way to get this organization out of this stagnant routine. A better way to take myself, and my work, to the next level. I’ve read a matterhorn-sized pile of books and attended too many workshops, all in the how to get more done, be more creative, or clear your over-filled mind categories. Lucky for us, there has never been more resources out there who are fighting this fight with us.

Moreover, if your like me, your life has a hard time being pinned down by one process. I need a more customized blend to fit all the hats I wear.

After years of grinding my teeth and experimentation, I discovered I ended up piecing together my own personal project blend. This process was designed to help me increase my productivity, expand my creativity and instill a more proactive approach to my work. The process is made up of a series of my favorite “go to” tools and tips that have given me the most results. They can be followed in linear sequence or used ala cart as you need them. Over the years, I have found that not only does this process help me design better work results for my clients but also can be applied to ones life to design a more interesting, creative and engaged life. An interesting drug one could say.
